Zildjian K Cluster 16 Crash Cymbal

Zildjian's K Cluster 16” Crash belongs to the K series’ darker, more complex voice–a cymbal built for orchestral and symphonic settings where nuance and projection matter equally. The K series represents Zildjian's hand-cast, B20 bronze formula, refined over decades for musicians who demand tonal sophistication. This 16” crash delivers a tight, controllable attack with a complex wash that colours the mix without dominating it, making it valuable across concert stage, stadium, and symphonic ensemble contexts.

The K Cluster's character emerges from its specific profile: a responsive, medium-weight cymbal with a bright bell zone that cuts through orchestral texture, a defined crescendo ring that builds gradually, and a crash voice that peaks and decays with precision rather than splash. Hand-cast B20 bronze construction ensures micro-irregularities in the alloy that generate harmonic complexity–listen for the layered sustain that distinguishes hand-finished instruments from machine-pressed alternatives. The 16” diameter sits between crash and medium crash sizes, offering versatility for both principal and secondary crash roles in varied ensemble configurations.
