Zildjian 13" K/Z Special HiHat Cymbals (Pair)

Zildjian's 13" K/Z Special HiHat pairs a medium–weight K series top with an extra–heavy Z Dyno Beat bottom, creating a hybrid that sits between the warm musicality of the K line and the bright cut of the Z series. This combination delivers a dry, articulate stick sound with a sharply defined "chick" on closure–essential for drummers who need clarity in dense mixes without sacrificing tonal character.

The top cymbal's medium weight allows for responsive stick definition and sustain, while the extra–heavy bottom provides weight and control for tight, focused articulation. At 13 inches, this size sits lower in the frequency spectrum than 14" pairs, offering a more compact response that works particularly well in rock, metal, and fusion contexts where fast hi–hat work demands precision. The K/Z pairing creates controllable splash without mushiness, making pedal technique directly audible through the mix.
