YAMAHA TAG1 Element TransAcoustic Guitar (Translucent Black Gloss)

The TAG1E represents Yamaha's latest approach to built-in guitar amplification, adding reverb and chorus effects directly into the instrument's signal chain without requiring external processors or amplifiers. This dreadnought cutaway combines a solid Sitka spruce top with mahogany back and sides to deliver authentic acoustic tone, whilst the onboard SYSTEM70 TransAcoustic™ electronics handle spatial effects generation at the source. The deeper body geometry optimises both output level and tonal resonance across the frequency spectrum.

Construction centres on a mahogany neck paired with a walnut fretboard, maintaining structural stability and tonal warmth through sustained playing sessions. The 650 mm scale length and 44 mm nut width provide standard dreadnought ergonomics suited to fingerstyle and flatpick approaches alike. Controls include dedicated reverb and chorus knobs with line-out connectivity for direct recording or PA integration; an AA battery (included) powers the electronics. Elixir NANOWEB 80/20 Bronze Light strings (12–53 gauge) ship pre-installed, whilst die-cast chrome hardware ensures tuning stability. A hard bag provides transport protection.

The reverb and chorus effects operate independently, allowing players to blend spatial dimension into acoustic tone during writing, rehearsal, or live performance without the complexity of pedalboards or outboard gear. The translucent black gloss finish reveals wood grain whilst projecting a refined aesthetic suitable for both studio work and stage visibility.
