The TAG1E TransAcoustic® guitar represents Yamaha's refinement of onboard acoustic effects technology, eliminating the need for external amplification or outboard gear. Built on the dreadnought platform with a solid Sitka spruce top, mahogany back and sides, and a slightly deeper body than its predecessor, this instrument generates genuine acoustic volume alongside integrated reverb and chorus effects. The TransAcoustic system (SYSTEM70) operates on a single AA battery and delivers studio–quality effects directly from the instrument itself.
Construction centres on proven materials: a 25 9/16" scale mahogany neck with walnut fretboard, 44 mm nut width, and die-cast chrome tuning hardware. The dreadnought cutaway body optimises both playing comfort and tonal projection. Elixir NANOWEB 80/20 Bronze Light strings (12–53 gauge) ship fitted and ready to play. Controls include separate reverb and chorus knobs, with line-out connectivity for recording or direct PA connection. The hard bag provides solid protection for touring or studio sessions.
The TAG1E suits players who prioritise simplicity and expressive tone across writing, rehearsal, and performance contexts. Eliminating the traditional acoustic–to–amplifier chain reduces setup time and dependency on external effects units, whilst the authentic acoustic resonance combined with hi–fidelity onboard processing creates an engaging, tactile playing experience without compromise to tonal character.
