An S-H configuration paired with a 3-way selector and dedicated Focus Switch on the bridge pickup opens up tones from vintage twang through to thicker, modern textures. Underneath the retro-leaning City Pop–inspired finishes sits a chambered alder body, built with Yamaha's Acoustic Design technology for a resonance that carries through every position on the switch.

Precision slits routed into the body add further air to the resonance without compromising the Pacifica's familiar solid-body feel, and the new contours are shaped for extended playing comfort. A Rounded-C maple neck with a satin finish pairs with a 12-inch radius fingerboard and medium jumbo stainless-steel frets, giving fast, even action across the board whether the fingerboard is finished in maple or rosewood. Gotoh locking tuners keep strings seated for quicker changes, while the compensated 3-saddle brass bridge adds sustain and intonation accuracy.
