The XENIA Overdrive Engine is a dynamics processor pedal designed to deliver authentic tube–style saturation and drive characteristics without relying on valve circuitry. Its core topology centres on a discrete FET–based gain stage that responds dynamically to picking attack, replicating the compression and harmonic bloom associated with pushed amplifier input stages. The pedal's three–band active EQ section operates post–gain, allowing precise tonal shaping across bass, mid, and treble frequencies to dial in everything from transparent boost to thick, compressed distortion.
The gain control sweeps from unity through to approximately 40dB of available boost, while the active EQ provides ±12dB of cut or boost at 100Hz, 800Hz, and 3.2kHz. True bypass switching ensures the signal path remains uncoloured when disengaged, and the all–analogue circuit runs on standard 9V DC centre–negative power with a current draw of 25mA. The enclosure measures 120mm × 95mm × 55mm and houses top–mounted 6.35mm jack sockets for input and output connections. Internal voicing options accessible via dip switches allow users to toggle between symmetrical and asymmetrical clipping modes, altering harmonic content and response.
