At the heart of the Fen-tone lies a custom Japanese ribbon element paired with a rare-earth Neodymium magnet system and premium CineMag USA transformer. These high-quality components work together to produce the rich, warm ribbon character that makes this microphone particularly well-suited for capturing guitars, drum overheads, brass instruments, and a wide range of other sources.
The inclusion of an all-analog 26 dB JFET in-line preamp sets the Fen-tone apart from traditional passive ribbon designs. This active circuitry allows engineers to use the microphone effectively with lower-gain preamps, making it a versatile and practical addition to any professional recording setup.
