The Real McCoy wah pedal represents a groundbreaking achievement in vintage recreation, built entirely with custom–designed components to authentically replicate the original legendary unit. Unlike any wah available today, this pedal features newly engineered inductors, transistors, and potentiometers, complemented by hand–selected resistors, capacitors, and precise wiring that completes the authentic circuit design.

This meticulous recreation extends beyond the internal components to encompass every exterior detail. The body has been moulded from a 3D scan of the vintage model, ensuring absolute accuracy in form and function. Even the smallest elements receive attention, from the specific screws used to the exact font reproduced on the underside of the unit.

The development process began with VOX acquiring a pristine 1967 McCoy wah in mint condition – internally dubbed the "Holy Grail" as the ultimate reference unit. Through extensive A/B testing, engineers systematically analysed its frequency response against other conventional vintage units.
