Reviving the legendary Italian craftsmanship of the mid–1960s, the VOX Bobcat V90 brings back the distinctive semi–hollow design that made the original Bobcat and Lynx guitars so sought after. This modern interpretation maintains the historic aesthetic while incorporating significant improvements to playability, feedback control, and pickup performance that today’s musicians demand.

The guitar features two original soapbar–style pickups modelled after the Italian–made originals, utilising flat–pole pieces rather than traditional screw poles. This design choice allows players to access bright single–coil tones whilst retaining the warmth and punch characteristic of soapbar pickups and semi–hollow construction. The result is a diverse sonic palette that suits multiple genres and playing styles, from clean jazz tones to driven rock sounds.

Significant construction upgrades include a set neck joint replacing the original bolt–on design, making higher fret access considerably easier. The fixed Tune–o–matic bridge provides optimal neck angle for improved playability, while the weight–relieved Spruce centre block increases sustain and dynamics whilst effectively controlling feedback at high volumes. This thoughtful construction also keeps the guitar remarkably lightweight, making it ideal for live performance.

Specially selected tuning pegs complete the package, chosen specifically to improve tuning stability, transfer string resonance effectively to the headstock, and minimise headstock weight. These components contribute to the guitar’s consistent tone and exceptionally balanced feel, making the Bobcat V90 a reliable tool for both recording and gigging musicians.
