Vox AC15 Handwired 1x12" Combo w/ Celestion Greenback Speakers (15w)

Few amplifiers have shaped music history like the VOX AC15. The AC15 Hand-Wired Greenback version continues that legacy, offering the same meticulous hand-wired construction and vintage circuit accuracy, now voiced with a Celestion Greenback speaker that brings a punchier, mid-forward tone and earlier breakup. This isn't just a reissue. It's a fully hand-crafted tribute to the original 1960s copper panel design, refined with modern features like a master volume, transparent effects loop, and spring reverb, delivering all the vintage character, with greater control and reliability. For players who prefer a tighter low end, warmer mids, and faster speaker saturation, the Greenback version offers a bold and responsive alternative.

At the core of the AC15s voice lies the EL84 power section and a critical detail: the way the phase inverter begins to distort as the amp is pushed. This adds subtle, musical harmonics that define the VOX sound, different from typical preamp gain. That signature character is all here, enhanced by the Celestion Greenbacks faster breakup and throatier midrange. The amps power supply reproduces the original 1963 sag response, delivering natural compression and touch sensitivity without the noise or instability of vintage models. Every nuance in your playing translates through the Greenback's dynamic response, from glassy cleans to saturated British roar.

A hand-wound output transformer reproduces the original midrange growl and harmonic layering, while the 12mm birch ply cabinet construction delivers authentic resonance. The slightly looser low end and softer highs of the Greenback speaker complement this perfectly, offering a tone that's warm, bold, and easy to drive.

Two Channels. One Classic Voice. -Normal Channel: Delivers warm, thick tones with a Bright switch for added clarity. -Top Boost Channel: Classic VOX chime and drive, now with slightly tamed highs for more control. Unique to the AC15 in this series, the BOOST switch increases gain and adds a rich, midrange growl that pushes the Greenback speaker beautifully. Whether clean or cranked, this amp stays harmonically rich and expressive under your fingers.

The onboard spring reverb is powered by its own dedicated tube circuit, with a separate output transformer to ensure proper impedance. The result is a rich, present reverb that blends smoothly with your tone, controlled via Level and Tone knobs and footswitchable for easy bypass.
