From humble beginnings in a Boston basement to becoming a global force in percussion, Vater drumsticks represent decades of craftsmanship and innovation. The company officially launched in November 1991, but the Vater family’s drumstick heritage stretches back much further, with their early handcrafted pieces emerging from the basement of Jack’s Drum Shop, a legendary Boston institution.
Today, Vater operates from their Holbrook, Massachusetts headquarters, where they’ve developed an extensive catalogue featuring hundreds of different models. Their commitment to excellence has attracted world-class artists including Chad Smith, Stewart Copeland, and Josh Freeze, who rely on Vater’s precision-crafted sticks for their performances.
The company maintains a straightforward philosophy: to manufacture the finest drumsticks and percussion accessories available worldwide. This Birch model features a hard, oval head design with multi-ply cord construction in light grey, showcasing Vater’s attention to both performance and aesthetic detail.
