The UAFX Lion ‘68 Super Lead Amp pedal captures the legendary British amp tones that shaped rock history, from Hendrix’s psychedelic solos to Van Halen’s hot-rodded crunch. Built on powerful dual-engine processing and world-class UAD modelling, this stompbox provides authentic emulations of three distinct 100-watt plexi amplifiers – Super Lead, Super Bass, and “Brown” – covering everything from pristine cleans to aggressive breakup and searing lead tones.
The pedal incorporates the same Dynamic Speaker Modeling technology found in the acclaimed Ox Amp Top Box, giving you six classic speaker cabinet setups with perfectly positioned studio mics and dynamic room sounds. You can bypass the cabinet and mic emulations to use Lion ‘68 in front of your existing amp for added tonal flavour, or go direct to your DAW or front-of-house for album-ready sounds. The Super Bass mode offers a spongier attack with more clean headroom, perfect for testing overdrives and effects, while the “Brown” setting recreates Van Halen’s iconic split Celestion/JBL cabinet setup with its distinctive meaty sizzle and string definition.
Lion ‘68 includes tried-and-true boost recipes such as Maestro EP-III preamp, Boss GE-10 ten-band EQ, and classic Variac and bias adjustments, all accessible at the turn of a knob. The UAFX Control mobile app expands functionality further, allowing you to customise footswitches, adjust the onboard noise gate, download artist presets, and archive your settings. With stereo inputs and outputs, USB-C connectivity for updates, and UA’s renowned build quality, this pedal requires an isolated 9VDC power supply with 400mA minimum current.
