At the core of Apollo Twin MkII are two Unison™-enabled mic preamps that allow real-time tracking through precise emulations from Neve, API, Manley, and Universal Audio. This exclusive Unison technology captures the authentic input impedance, gain stage sweet spots, and component-level circuit behaviours of the original hardware through seamless hardware-software integration with the onboard UAD-2 processing. The interface also features Unison technology on its front panel instrument input, providing access to faithful recreations of classic guitar and bass amplifiers including the Fender '55 Tweed Deluxe, Marshall Plexi Super Lead 1959, and Ampeg B-15N, plus iconic stompboxes like the Ibanez Tube Screamer.
The included analogue emulation plug-ins set the industry standard for hardware modelling, featuring the world's only authentic Teletronix LA-2A, 1176LN, Pultec EQs, and the Unison-enabled UA 610-B Tube Preamp. These DSP-powered plug-ins operate at near-zero latency regardless of your audio software's buffer size, without taxing your computer's CPU, and remain available in your DAW for mixing. Apollo Twin MkII also includes the LUNA recording system, which creates a fully-integrated Mac-based recording environment with seamless hardware-software integration, allowing audio capture through DSP-powered UAD plug-ins with no discernible latency and offering Accelerated Realtime Monitoring for analogue-style tracking workflows.
