This 16-voice polyphonic synthesiser features dual independent binaural signal chains, each capable of producing unique timbres with their own dedicated effects processing. The instrument’s bitimbral architecture allows for sophisticated sound layering, splitting, and sequencing operations that can be accessed through intuitive single-control commands.
At its heart, the Super 8 utilises complex FPGA digital oscillators paired with an entirely analog signal path to the outputs, creating a hybrid approach that captures the best of both worlds. The synthesiser offers extensive sound-shaping capabilities including wave morphing, cross and ring modulation, plus bi-directional sync functions. With 32 interchangeable waveforms and comprehensive modulation options, the tonal palette extends well beyond traditional analog boundaries while maintaining that coveted analog character.
The performance-focused design centres around a 61-note semi-weighted keyboard with polyphonic aftertouch, complemented by dedicated left-hand performance controls for real-time expression. Storage capacity includes 256 performance and patch slots alongside 16 built-in sequences, providing ample space for both preset exploration and original programming. The Super 8’s true-stereo binaural signal path, powered by dual FPGAs and twin effects processors, ensures rich spatial imaging while maintaining the road-friendly form factor that made its smaller sibling so popular with touring musicians.
