The UAD-2 Satellite USB OCTO brings professional-grade DSP processing power directly to your Windows PC setup, featuring eight SHARC processors that provide the muscle needed for running complex mixes packed with industry-standard plug-ins. This sleek desktop unit serves as the perfect entry point into Universal Audio’s acclaimed plug-in ecosystem, offering improved performance and reduced latency compared to FireWire alternatives while seamlessly integrating with Apollo Twin USB interfaces for expanded processing capabilities.
What sets UAD Powered Plug-Ins apart is Universal Audio’s meticulous approach to recreating classic analogue hardware through comprehensive physical modelling. Their engineering team rebuilds vintage gear component by component in the digital realm, capturing not just the sound but the distinctive behaviour and character of legendary equipment from brands like Neve, Studer, Lexicon, SSL, and Manley. This attention to detail results in plug-ins that reproduce the rich harmonics and three-dimensional qualities that made the original hardware so sought-after.
The Core package comes loaded with the Analog Classics Plus bundle, giving you immediate access to Legacy editions of iconic processors including the LA-2A Classic Audio Leveler, 1176 Classic Limiting Amplifiers, Pultec EQP-1A, and Fairchild 670, plus additional tools like the 610-B Tube Preamp. With compatibility across major DAWs including Pro Tools, Cubase, and Live, plus the ability to combine with other UAD-2 devices, this USB 3.0-powered unit opens the door to over 90 professional plug-ins that have become essential tools for everyone from home studio enthusiasts to multi-platinum mixing engineers.
