The Torpedo Captor X (16) revolutionises how tube amp enthusiasts experience their rigs by combining a reactive load box, attenuator, cabinet simulator, IR loader and stereo expander into one compact unit. This 16-ohm version of Two notes Audio Engineering's acclaimed device solves the age-old problems of heavy cabinets, inconsistent sound and stage volume issues by allowing direct connection to PA systems and audio interfaces with studio-grade DynIR cabinet simulations. Players can finally enjoy their 100-watt tube amps at their sweet spot whilst controlling volume through the built-in attenuator, making it perfect for home practice, live performance or studio recording.
The device comes loaded with 32 carefully curated virtual cabinets, each featuring 8 microphone options and 13 room simulations, all controllable via the Torpedo Remote app on your phone, tablet or computer. Advanced features include Twin Tracker automatic double tracking, which creates a virtual second guitarist in real-time, plus a new Stereo Reverb algorithm with Space control for adjusting stereo field width. The Voicing control provides quick tonal adjustments across all presets, whilst the Enhancer adds dynamic tone shaping with Thickness, Brilliance and Body parameters.
Professional routing options include Stereo, Dual Mono and Dry/Wet configurations through XLR DI outputs, allowing different signals to FOH and monitors or separate processing of dry and processed signals in your DAW. The unit supports 512 memory slots for custom IR files, includes the critically acclaimed Wall of Sound plugin, and provides access to over 400 virtual cabinets through the online library.
