The Torpedo Captor brings professional-grade tube amp recording and attenuation to musicians who refuse to compromise on tone. This reactive loadbox serves as the compact sibling to the award-winning Torpedo Reload, designed specifically for guitarists and bassists who need to harness their amplifier’s sweet spot without the volume constraints of traditional speaker cabinets. The 8-ohm, 100W RMS unit perfectly mimics speaker impedance, ensuring your amplifier operates exactly as it would with a real cabinet connected.
Recording silently or performing at reduced volumes becomes effortless with the Captor’s versatile output options. The unit features both line and XLR DI outputs, with the DI incorporating analogue speaker simulation derived from Two notes’ acclaimed Le Preamp series. For live applications, the speaker THRU and ATT outputs allow you to maintain a cabinet on stage while feeding the PA system directly, with the ATT providing a fixed -20dB attenuation to keep stage volumes manageable.
The included Wall of Sound plugin expands the Captor’s capabilities significantly, providing 16 virtual cabinets that work seamlessly within your Digital Audio Workstation. This software integration creates a complete recording solution that captures authentic tube amp character without the traditional limitations of microphone placement and room acoustics. Additional cabinet simulations are available through the Two notes Boutique, allowing you to build a comprehensive library of speaker responses for any musical style or recording requirement.
