With the T1, Torso Electronics set out to redefine the concept of a musical sequencer and how artists interact with it. Designed for a workflow more akin to sculpting sound on a synthesiser than simply programming musical events, the T1 offers an intuitive, exploratory approach to creating electronic music, filled with creative possibilities at every turn.
At its core lies a Euclidean rhythm generator, allowing fast creation of intricate rhythmic patterns with minimal adjustments. Unlike conventional Euclidean sequencers, the T1 features a step‐edit function that lets you manually fine‐tune rhythms beyond algorithmic limits, plus a sophisticated per‐step note repeater for detailed embellishments.
Beyond rhythm creation, the T1 is a powerful tool for composing melodic and harmonic material. Pitch modulation, scale‐locking, looping random sequences, and voice‐leading algorithms combine to produce smooth, expressive chord transitions. Its randomisation capabilities can be applied globally or per parameter, allowing subtle evolution or instant generation of fresh ideas.
With extensive connectivity including Ableton Link, MIDI I/O, CV/Gate, and analogue clocking, the T1 integrates seamlessly into any setup. Compact and portable, it can serve as the central sequencing brain or complement other instruments and sequencers effortlessly.
