The legendary Technics SL-1200 series revolutionised DJ culture when it first launched in 1972, and the SL-1210MK7 continues this legacy with cutting-edge technology that maintains the series’ renowned reliability and durability. This premium direct drive turntable inherits the traditional design that made the series famous whilst incorporating advanced sound-enhancing technologies, including a revolutionary coreless direct drive motor and new DJ play functions such as reverse playback. The SL-1210MK7 remains highly acclaimed by DJs worldwide for its powerful torque, easy operation, and unrivalled build quality that helped unleash the electronic dance music movement.
At the heart of the SL-1210MK7 lies a newly developed coreless direct drive motor featuring a coreless stator design that eliminates cogging by removing the iron core entirely. The magnetic force of the rotor magnets has been optimised to the highest possible level, with the gap between the coreless stator and rotor magnets carefully calibrated to achieve high torque performance matching the acclaimed SL-1200MK5. Advanced motor control technology, refined through Panasonic Blu-ray disc development, utilises microcomputer control to ensure exceptional performance during normal rotation whilst responding accurately to demanding DJ techniques like scratching, with adjustable starting torque and brake speed settings.
The chassis construction employs audio quality enhancement technology developed through high-end turntable engineering, featuring an aluminium die-cast chassis rigidly integrated with a special ABS and glass fibre composite material in a two-layer design. This combination of high-rigidity materials and metal construction significantly improves both structural rigidity and vibration-damping performance, creating a robust foundation that effectively reduces external vibrations for pristine sound reproduction in professional DJ environments.
