The TASCAM ML-16D bridges the gap between analogue audio equipment and modern Dante networks, offering professional-grade conversion through a streamlined D-Sub connector system. This Dante-focused converter is purpose-built for inserting or extracting analogue audio signals into digital audio networks via Ethernet, utilising external breakout devices with Sub-D format connectors for maximum flexibility.

Featuring 2 D-Sub inputs and 2 D-Sub outputs, the ML-16D connects seamlessly with microphone preamplifiers, console mixers of all sizes, audio interfaces, amplifiers, and euro block connector devices. The unit handles 16-channel analogue line input/output signals, making it an ideal solution for studios and live sound applications requiring reliable analogue-to-digital integration within Dante audio streams.

Built-in redundancy ensures uninterrupted operation through primary and secondary connectors that create a duplex network system. When the primary network route fails, the ML-16D automatically switches to the secondary route without introducing noise or signal interruption. The front panel includes signal and overload indicators for monitoring analogue input/output levels, with the signal indicator activating when levels drop below -60dBFs.

The unit’s D-sub 25-pin connectors serve as analogue line input/output connections, and when paired with optional breakout boxes, provide conversion to Euro Block and XLR formats. This configuration offers studios and sound engineers the flexibility to integrate existing analogue gear into contemporary Dante-based audio networks without compromising signal quality or system reliability.
