Tama Starphonic 14"x 6" Snare Drum (Satin Natural Spruce)

Tama's Starphonic 14” x 6” snare drum uses an 8mm, 9–ply Spruce shell to deliver a warm, mellow centre tone with sharp attack and controlled projection. Spruce's tonal character complements acoustic instruments and sits well in both studio and live mixes. The 8–lug configuration paired with Tama's Grooved Hoop design (US Patent No. 7825318) provides the sensitivity and brightness needed to cut through a kit while maintaining the wood's natural resonance.

Construction centres on a linear–drive strainer for fast, reliable tuning and a Super Sensitive Hi–Carbon snappy providing crisp articulation across the head. Freedom Lug and Claw Hook hardware ensures even tension distribution and durability during repeated tuning adjustments. The satin natural finish with centre stripe detailing emphasises the spruce grain, balancing visual appeal with a no–nonsense feel typical of professional snare drums.
