Tama Starclassic Performer Maple 5 Piece Drum Kit Shell Set - Piano Black

The Tama Starclassic Performer Maple 5 Piece Drum Kit Shell Set in Piano Black finish represents the latest evolution in professional drum craftsmanship, combining decades of innovation with cutting–edge hybrid shell technology. Since 1994, Tama's Starclassic series has continuously developed to provide discerning drummers with acoustic variation, rock–solid professional performance and sensible value. The series has featured drums with various wood types, including pure birch, pure maple, and hybrid combinations like bubinga/birch and walnut/birch, with the hybrid shells being widely appreciated for their complex and expressive sonic properties.

The Starclassic Performer series centres on Tama's newest hybrid shell construction, pairing maple and birch to offer drummers a complex, powerful and expressive sound supported by rugged Starclassic performance. This combination projects with the warmth of maple and the clarity of birch, producing tones that are clean, articulate and very well balanced. The voice around the kit blends clearly, while the die–cast hoops produce clear, punchy, full tones that redefine professional drum set sound and expression.

The shell construction features TT/FT/SD with 6mm 4ply Birch plus 2 inner ply Maple, while the BD uses 7mm 5ply Birch plus 2 inner ply Maple. The Star–Cast Mounting System provides maximum resonance and stability with a streamlined design that makes it easier to position toms closer together for greater ease and comfort. This mounting system has always been a cornerstone of TAMA's pro–drums, ensuring both sonic integrity and practical functionality for professional applications.
