Tama Starclassic Performer 4 pc Maple Birch Shell Pack - Dark Cherry Fade

The Tama MBS42S DCF Starclassic Performer 4pc Maple/Birch Shell Pack in Dark Cherry Fade represents the latest evolution in Tama's acclaimed hybrid shell technology. This innovative maple/birch construction combines the natural warmth of maple with the crisp clarity of birch, creating a complex and expressive sonic palette that has gained widespread appreciation among professional drummers. The hybrid shell design produces clean, articulate tones that are exceptionally well–balanced across the entire kit.

The shell construction features a sophisticated layering system with TT/FT/SD drums built from 6mm, 4–ply birch plus 2 inner ply maple, while the bass drum utilises 7mm, 5–ply birch plus 2 inner ply maple construction. This configuration ensures the voice around the kit blends seamlessly, with die–cast hoops contributing clear, punchy, full tones. The drums come equipped with EVANS® heads throughout – G1 coated batter heads on toms and snare, clear EQ4 batter heads on bass drums, and appropriate resonant heads for optimal performance.

Professional features include Tama's proven Star–Cast Mounting System, which maximises resonance and stability while allowing drummers to position toms closer together for improved comfort and playability. The zinc die–cast hoops are manufactured through precision injection moulding, providing greater density and consistency compared to traditional triple–flanged alternatives. This construction method ensures more reliable tuning, crisper attack, resonant highs, and significantly more powerful rim shots, making the Starclassic Performer series an exceptional choice for serious drummers seeking professional sound quality and reliable performance.
