The Tama Octoban Stand HOW29W is a purpose–built support system designed for Tama's eight–pitched percussion instrument. Octobans represent one of Tama's foundational original designs, adopted by progressive drummers including Billy Cobham, Simon Phillips, Stewart Copeland, Bill Bruford, Mike Portnoy, and Tim Alexander. Unlike conventional drums that shift pitch through diameter variation, Octobans achieve melodic tuning via shell length differences across six uniform diameters, enabling players to articulate pitched sequences within a compact footprint.
The stand accommodates two Octoban pieces and features solid construction with adjustable feet for platform stability. Its footprint measures 58 centimetres wide by 29 centimetres deep, with a total weight of 2.084 kilograms. The adjustable feet allow fine–tuning of height and angle, critical for players requiring precise striking angles and ergonomic positioning during performance or studio work. This design supports both low–pitch and high–pitch Octoban sets, accommodating the full range of melodic possibilities Tama's system offers.
