Tama HP600D Iron Cobra 600 Single Pedal Duo Glide (Dark Shadow Edition)

The Tama Iron Cobra 600 Single Pedal Duo Glide (Dark Shadow Edition) is a direct–drive bass drum pedal engineered for drummers seeking responsiveness without complexity. Tama's Iron Cobra lineage prioritises mechanical precision and durability, with the HP600D model delivering the brand's proven double chain drive architecture and modular cam system in an accessible format for gigging and studio work.

The pedal's defining feature is the Duo Glide cam mechanism, which switches between Power Glide (delivering aggressive acceleration mid–stroke) and Rolling Glide (maintaining consistent feel throughout). A newly designed hinge protects the pin with a cylindrical brass sleeve, whilst the Speedo–Ring replaces traditional nylon with a high–quality ball bearing to eliminate friction points. Spring Tight tension management—a half–moon shaped rod—prevents spring twisting that would otherwise degrade power transmission, and the Para–Clamp hoop adaptor rotates to accommodate drum hoop angles, keeping the pedal flat on any floor.

Double chain drive construction matches the heavier Iron Cobra 900 series specification, ensuring smooth and accurate motion across varied playing contexts. The combination of these engineering details—hinge design, cam flexibility, and bearing surfaces—makes the HP600D responsive across dynamic ranges without requiring constant adjustment or maintenance intervention during sessions.
