When Mike Portnoy returned to Dream Theater in late 2023, Tama seized the moment to create a signature snare inspired by his original "Purple Monster" aesthetic. This limited edition release channels that vision into a hand-painted finish–vibrant white cascading into rich purple sparkle–with no two drums identical. Built around an 8mm, 9-ply Bubinga shell paired with 8-lug die-cast hoops, the MP1455BUN delivers the cut and projection that session and touring drummers demand from a 14" × 5.5" frame.

The all-Bubinga construction yields a naturally warm, complex tone with crisp attack. The die-cast hoops reinforce the shell and lock down resonance, whilst the 3-Way Tension Adjustable Strainer (MCS100A) lets you toggle between tight, loose, and off positions on the fly–shifting snare character without reaching for tools. Standard spec includes MS20SN14S wires, MSL-SCT lugs, and the MCS70B butt plate. Each unit arrives with a certification card, marking its provenance within this collector–tier run.
