The Suhr Hombre 18w combo brings the legendary Brownface tones that shaped John Suhr's musical journey into a modern, meticulously crafted amplifier. This ~20‐watt powerhouse features a pure signal path with Normal and Bright channels, each equipped with straightforward Volume and Tone controls that unlock an astonishing range of sounds. The simplicity is deceptive ‐ clean tones ring out with classic bell‐like clarity, while the amp's true character emerges when pushed into the sweet overdrive territory that defined 1970s Texas blues‐rock.

At the heart of Hombre's sonic magic lies its Dynamic Tube Bias tremolo circuit, which creates its effect by modulating the bias of the 6V6 power tubes. This unique approach produces an unmistakably rich tremolo that interacts dynamically with your playing style ‐ the effect becomes less noticeable when you dig in hard, then blooms beautifully as notes decay. Custom‐made transformers wound on paper bobbins and manufactured in the USA ensure exceptional tone quality, while careful attention to component layout minimises noise throughout the signal chain.

The lightweight cabinet construction uses box‐jointed pine with a floating baffle design, making this 1x12 combo perfect for both studio work and live performances. Suhr selected a 12" Celestion® V‐Type speaker after extensive testing to complement Hombre's vintage‐inspired voice, creating a grab‐and‐go amplifier that maintains the classic Brownface heritage while incorporating modern reliability and reduced noise.
