Stylophone BEAT Pocket-Sized Drum Machine

The Stylophone BEAT is a battery–powered drum machine that condenses analogue–style rhythm programming into a pocket–sized unit measuring just 124 x 72 x 24mm. Designed by Dubreq, the same maker behind the retro Stylophone synthesiser, this miniature beatbox delivers 16 drum voices triggered via capacitive touch pads and runs on three AAA batteries for portability. The BEAT's most distinctive feature is its live–play control scheme, where users tap out rhythms directly rather than navigating multi–step sequencing menus.

Each of the 16 onboard sounds spans kick, snare, hi–hats, cymbals, toms, claps, and synth percussion, all accessible via dedicated touch–sensitive pads that respond to finger contact. The internal sequencer stores patterns up to 16 steps in length, with tempo adjustable from 60 to 200 BPM via a dedicated rotary control. Audio output routes through a 3.5mm stereo jack with a maximum output level of 1Vpp, while a built–in speaker provides instant monitoring without external amplification. The unit also features a swing control for groove variation and a distortion effect that adds grit to programmed patterns.
