The endless hunt for the perfect overdrive tone ends with Sunset, a revolutionary dual-channel pedal that houses six meticulously crafted classic overdrive circuits in one compact unit. Strymon has studied the most iconic and timeless overdrive and boost pedals, then created their own custom-voiced interpretations of these legendary circuits. Each side functions as an independent, customisable overdrive pedal with flexible routing options, designed specifically for complementary tones when stacked together.
From transparent “more amp” boost to heavy saturated fuzz, Sunset covers the full spectrum of sought-after overdrive tones. The six distinct circuits each respond differently under your playing dynamics, offering everything from subtle amp pushing to aggressive saturation. Strymon’s careful design philosophy means each side features just one tone knob with custom-calibrated ranges, allowing you to quickly dial in your desired sound without endless tweaking.
The pedal utilises an all-analog JFET gain stage combined with precision-crafted DSP algorithms to authentically capture the nuances and character of each circuit type. Modern players demand more than simple amp pushing – they want layered, multistage tonalities that add new dimensions to their sound. Sunset’s flexible routing system lets you use any circuit independently, run Channel A through Channel B, Channel B through Channel A, or operate both circuits in parallel, with routing options deliberately chosen to present the best-sounding drive combinations.
