The Strymon Flint captures the legendary marriage of tremolo and reverb that first emerged from classic 1960s amplifiers and went on to define the sound of surf rock, blues, westerns, and countless other genres. This studio-class effects pedal meticulously recreates the sonic complexities of vintage circuits through hand-crafted algorithms, essentially providing two premium effects in one compact unit with tremolo on one side and reverb on the other.
The tremolo section offers three distinct vintage voices: the sonically complex '61 Harmonic Tremolo, the swampy '63 Power Tube Tremolo, and the sharp '65 Photocell Tremolo. Meanwhile, the reverb side features the classic '60s Spring Tank Reverb, the inventive '70s Electronic Plate Reverb, and the nostalgic '80s Hall Rack Reverb. With nine tweakable parameters, you can craft everything from splashy pulsing twang to ambient reverberated soundscapes.
Built around a powerful 520MHz ARM processor with 32-bit floating point processing, the Flint features premium JFET analogue front-end circuitry, ultra-low noise 24-bit 96kHz converters, and comprehensive connectivity including stereo inputs/outputs, MIDI capability, and expression pedal control. The robust anodised aluminium chassis houses true and buffered bypass switching with dedicated footswitches for each effect, making this American-designed and built pedal a professional solution for capturing the history of tremolo and reverb.
