The Horizon One closed-back headphones pair 50mm dynamic drivers and an aluminium-and-maple chassis with VSX Essentials modelling software, designed to help mixes translate across systems. Steven Slate Audio positions this model as the closed-back counterpart to the open-back Immersion One, delivering a cleaner and more detailed response than the original VSX closed-back design. The figured maple earcups and high-grade aluminium frame house drivers tuned for ultra-low distortion, while the circumaural leather earpads provide isolation for focused monitoring.
VSX Essentials recreates Sonoma Studio, Steven's private mix room, an LA nightclub system and a luxury SUV sound system, alongside four modelled studio headphones and two ultra-flat custom headphone profiles. Each room model includes multiple speaker options with global output EQ and calibration settings. The plugin ships as AU, VST2, VST3 and AAX for 64-bit Mac and Windows, licensed through PACE iLok. Additional rooms and speakers are available through the VSX Marketplace. The headphones deliver a 20Hz–20kHz frequency response with 32Ω impedance (±15%) and 107dB sensitivity (±2dB), connected via a detachable 190cm Y cable with 3.5mm plug and ¼" adapter.
