SSL's legendary console technology now lives in a compact 4-channel rackmount unit with the PURE DRIVE QUAD, bringing the acclaimed SuperAnalogue PureDrive� microphone preamp from the ORIGIN console to your studio rack. This innovative preamp maintains SSL's signature clarity and punch whilst offering three distinct sonic characters: Clean mode for ultra-low noise linear performance, Classic Drive for symmetrical harmonic saturation with predominantly odd harmonics, and the new Asymmetric Drive mode that emphasises even harmonics for enhanced thickness and transient softening.
Built without electro-mechanical components in the critical signal path, PURE DRIVE QUAD ensures exceptional channel matching and longevity through digitally controlled analogue circuits. Each channel features independent +48V phantom power, polarity inversion, sweepable high-pass filtering, and four selectable input impedance options for tonal exploration. The comprehensive connectivity includes rear XLR inputs, front Hi-Z/DI inputs with automatic detection, and D-sub connectors for line inputs plus insert send/return functionality operating at full +24 dBu professional levels.
Digital integration comes via an onboard USB soundcard supporting up to 32-bit/192 kHz recording, dual AES/EBU outputs, and ADAT connectivity for four channels at 24-bit/48 kHz. Multiple units can be cascaded through the ADAT LINK IN for expanded channel counts, whilst auto-ranging word clock input and output maintain rock-solid digital timing. The AES and ADAT outputs can be repurposed as DAW outputs, making PURE DRIVE QUAD equally suited to tracking sessions and mix processing applications.
