SSL's legendary console technology now comes packed into a single 2U rack unit with the PURE DRIVE OCTO, bringing eight channels of the acclaimed SuperAnalogue PureDrive� microphone preamps from the ORIGIN console directly to your studio setup. This innovative preamp maintains the clarity and punch that SSL is renowned for whilst offering the flexibility to switch between three distinct sonic characters - from pristine transparency in Clean mode to the warm, harmonically rich tones of Classic Drive, plus the new Asymmetric Drive mode that emphasises even harmonics for enhanced thickness and softer transients.

The unit's sophisticated analogue circuit design eliminates electro-mechanical components from the critical signal path, ensuring exceptional channel matching across all eight preamps and improved longevity. Each channel provides four selectable input impedance options, independent +48V phantom power, polarity inversion, and high-pass filtering. The front panel features four Hi-Z/DI instrument inputs with automatic detection, whilst the rear offers comprehensive connectivity through combo XLR inputs and three sets of D-sub connectors for line inputs, insert sends, and returns operating at professional +24 dBu levels.

Digital connectivity is equally impressive with an integrated USB soundcard supporting up to 32-bit/192 kHz recording directly into your DAW. The unit also provides four AES/EBU output pairs and ADAT output for eight channels at 24-bit/48 kHz, expandable to four channels at 24-bit/192 kHz via SMUX. Both AES and ADAT outputs can be repurposed as DAW outputs from the onboard USB interface, whilst auto-ranging word clock input and output ensure rock-solid digital synchronisation for professional recording environments.
