The MTC Mk2 redefines professional studio monitoring with its comprehensive feature set designed for today’s demanding production environments. This updated classic combines advanced source and speaker selection capabilities with multiple monitoring modes, an integrated premium talkback system, and dual headphone amplifiers featuring the renowned Phonitor Matrix technology. Operating at an internal audio voltage of +/-18 volts, the unit maintains exceptional signal integrity while its massive 45mm aluminium-milled volume knob provides intuitive and precise control over monitoring levels.

Three pairs of stereo speaker outputs plus a dedicated mono subwoofer output give you complete flexibility in your monitoring setup. High-quality analogue switches allow individual or multiple speaker pair selection, while the SUB output can be combined with any speaker configuration. The unit supports three distinct monitoring modes: standard stereo playback, mono compatibility checking with phase inversion capabilities, and the innovative LR SWAP function that reverses the stereo image – particularly valuable for video dubbing work where directional movement needs to match the visual content.

Advanced monitoring features include the ability to isolate M or S signals by combining the MONO and phase invert switches, a technique that has become standard practice among mixing and mastering engineers. The DIM switch provides quick 10dB attenuation, while separate SP MUTE and HP MUTE switches offer complete control over speaker and headphone outputs respectively, providing essential protection against unexpected signal peaks from your DAW.

Both headphone amplifiers utilise Class AB push-pull output stages with thermally coupled bipolar transistors, ensuring consistent performance and stable sound imaging even with low-impedance headphones. The integrated Phonitor Matrix technology addresses the inherent limitations of headphone monitoring by correcting stereo image representation, enabling mixing and mastering engineers to create translations that work perfectly across all speaker systems and making extended headphone sessions both productive and reliable.
