The Control One monitor controller revolutionises studio workflow with its comprehensive feature set designed for professional audio production. This innovative device allows you to switch between two pairs of speakers, with speaker pair A automatically controlling a connected subwoofer. The middle position of the speaker switch conveniently mutes all outputs without requiring volume adjustment. Two analogue stereo inputs accommodate various sources including DA converters, CD players, mixing consoles, synthesizers, and tape machines, with the option to monitor both inputs simultaneously in mixed mode (1+2).

The unit’s monitoring capabilities include three distinct modes: standard stereo, mono compatibility checking, and the particularly useful L/R > R/L channel swap function. This channel reversal feature proves invaluable for video dubbing work, allowing you to instantly match sample direction with on-screen movement without loading files into your DAW. The unchanged line output maintains signal integrity while enabling device chaining, making it simple to connect additional headphone amplifiers or recording equipment without losing connectivity.

Professional-grade headphone amplification comes courtesy of a Class AB push-pull design using thermally coupled bipolar transistors. This configuration provides superior gain and output voltage compared to Class A operation, whilst the low source resistance buffer circuit ensures ample current reserves for driving low-impedance headphones. The integrated Phonitor Matrix crossfeed technology allows you to create headphone mixes that translate accurately to speakers, with preset centre level (-1 dB) and speaker angle (30°) values optimised for most applications. The fully variable crossfeed control includes relay switching to keep the circuit out of the signal path when not required.

Internal power regulation generates ±17 volts from the supplied 12V adapter, enabling professional signal levels up to +22.5 dB. Additional features include a -10 dB attenuation switch for sensitive monitoring systems, a Rec 1+2 function for USB recording of mixed inputs, and sophisticated low-drop voltage regulation that maintains clean operation even at maximum levels. The robust power supply design ensures consistent performance with the included 1.5A adapter.
