The Soleman stands as a compact powerhouse that bridges the gap between traditional hardware control and modern digital music production. This versatile MIDI controller features two hardware MIDI outputs for interfacing with any MIDI-standard equipment, plus USB-MIDI connectivity for direct control of DAWs, virtual instruments, synths, and VST plugins. Four responsive footswitches provide comprehensive control options - scroll through scenes, launch individual MIDI messages, navigate set lists, or trigger customisable MIDI macros. The high-contrast LCD remains clearly visible in all lighting conditions, from dimly lit stages to bright outdoor venues, displaying essential information about scenes, set lists, MIDI configuration, and expression outputs.
Three distinct control modes maximise the Soleman’s flexibility for different performance scenarios. Scene Mode cycles through all 128 available scenes sequentially using the onboard footswitches. List Mode allows custom arrangement of scenes in any preferred order, with the unit storing up to 64 lists containing up to 90 scenes each. Panel Mode offers the most granular control, storing up to 64 panels where each of the four footswitches can be assigned specific functions including Program Change, Continuous Controller, and Note On/Off messages, or multiple commands via macro messages.
Configuration is streamlined through the included USB Editor Software compatible with Windows and Mac systems. The expression input accepts passive expression pedals, converting them to Continuous Controller MIDI messages across all outputs. Additional functionality includes a Tap Tempo switch for generating real-time MIDI clock messages distributed to all connected devices and software, plus an External Switch Port accommodating an additional two-footswitch controller for enhanced navigation convenience. Class-compliant USB drivers ensure plug-and-play compatibility without requiring additional driver installation.
