Sontronics STC2 Large Diaphragm Cardioid Condenser Microphone Pack (Black)

Since launching in 2005, the Sontronics STC–2 has earned its reputation as a studio essential, becoming one of the world’s most trusted large–diaphragm condenser microphones. This fixed cardioid pattern mic excels across a wide range of applications, from capturing pristine vocals and voiceover work to recording acoustic instruments including guitar, piano, brass, woodwind and strings. The STC–2 can also be deployed in stereo pairs for professional recording setups.

The microphone’s evenly balanced frequency response produces rich, defined low frequencies while maintaining a detailed, open top end that accurately reproduces your source material. Featuring Sontronics’ signature smooth high–frequency roll–off, the STC–2 ensures natural–sounding recordings that sit perfectly in any mix. Despite being one of the company’s most accessible options, this microphone is built with meticulous attention to detail in both its internal electronics and external construction.

Professional features include a two–stage filter switch for complete low–end control and a two–stage pad switch that allows the mic to handle powerful sources like brass instruments, drums and guitar amplifiers. Available in brushed silver or satin black finishes, the STC–2 comes with a spider–style shockmount housed in a protective aluminium flightcase. The STC–2 PACK includes essential accessories – shockmount, nylon–mesh popshield, XLR cable and zip–up pouch – making it particularly popular with singer/songwriters who appreciate its ability to simultaneously capture both vocals and acoustic guitar.
