Sontronics DM1T Condenser Microphone for Toms

Three years of intensive collaboration with professional drummers and producers has resulted in the Sontronics DM-1T, a condenser microphone engineered specifically for tom tom recording and performance. This small-diaphragm condenser mic forms part of the comprehensive DM-1 series, working alongside the DM-1B for kick drum and DM-1S for snare to provide complete drum kit coverage for both live and studio applications.

The DM-1T features impressive technical specifications including a -10dB attenuation pad and the ability to handle up to 135dB SPL, making it capable of capturing the full dynamic range of your drums. The microphone excels at reproducing all the classic tom tom characteristics - from the initial snap and slap through to the boom and natural resonance that gives each drum its unique voice.

Practical considerations haven’t been overlooked, with the DM-1T supplied complete with a mic clip for quick setup and flexible positioning on either mic stands or rim mounts. While primarily designed for rack and floor toms, the microphone also produces excellent results when used with bongos, djembe, tabla and congas, making it a versatile addition to any percussionist’s recording setup.
