Ten years in the making, the Sontronics DELTA 2 ribbon microphone has arrived to redefine high-SPL recording with unprecedented clarity and power. This successor to the world’s first ribbon mic designed specifically for high sound pressure level sources builds upon the legendary reputation of its predecessor, which has become essential kit for artists ranging from Bernard Butler to Radiohead’s Ed O’Brien, Steve Stevens to Aerosmith.

The DELTA 2 excels not only as the perfect partner for guitar amplifiers but also shines when capturing other high-SPL sources including trumpet, trombone and tenor sax. Its reduced sensitivity compared to Sontronics’ SIGMA 2 allows it to handle incredibly powerful signals without overloading the internal preamp circuit, while its rugged construction and multi-layer baffling make it equally at home on stage or in the studio.

Hand-built at Sontronics HQ with their own unique circuitry, the DELTA 2 features UK-made electronics including a custom-wound premium-quality transformer manufactured in their hometown of Poole, England. The mic incorporates the same excellent ribbon motor as the original DELTA but now includes revolutionary RFI (radio frequency interference) filters that eliminate unwanted radio frequencies - making Sontronics the only ribbon microphones in the world to offer this feature for enhanced live performance capability.
