Solid State Logic's SSL1 is a 2–in/2–out USB–C audio interface built on decades of professional studio engineering. This portable interface strips away complexity without sacrificing the sonic character that makes SSL gear the standard in world–class facilities. The centrepiece is an SSL microphone preamp with Legacy 4K Analogue Enhancement—the same colouration circuit found in SSL's mixing consoles—delivering warmth and presence that digital–only interfaces can't touch.
The SSL1 runs on 32–bit/192 kHz converters for transparent audio capture across the full frequency spectrum. One channel accepts mic input with +48V phantom power and a high–pass filter; the second takes instrument or line–level signals. The headphone output delivers high current for demanding drivers, while balanced monitor outputs feed studio speakers or nearfield monitors. A mix button blends low–latency input monitoring with computer playback. DC–coupled outputs send CV to synthesisers, and three stereo loopback channels handle streaming or podcast recording. USB bus–powered operation or external 5V supply keeps setup mobile.
The bundle includes SSL's Production Pack software, adding EQ, compression, and reverb to the hardware core. Bedroom producers and touring musicians get genuine studio–chain colour in a unit small enough to travel, while content creators benefit from the loopback feature and robust build quality using professional–grade components throughout.
