Shure KSM137 Cardioid Condenser Instrument Microphone - Champagne

The Shure KSM137 Cardioid Condenser Instrument Microphone in Champagne stands as a testament to precision engineering, combining studio‐grade performance with the ruggedness demanded by live applications. This versatile microphone features an ultra‐thin 2.5 micron, 24 karat gold‐layered Mylar diaphragm that provides superior transient response across its impressive 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency range. The highly consistent cardioid polar pattern ensures excellent sound isolation, while the Class A discrete transformerless preamplifier guarantees transparency with minimal distortion.

Built to handle the most demanding recording scenarios, the KSM137 incorporates premium electronic components including gold‐plated internal and external connectors for optimal signal integrity. The microphone’s 3‐position switchable pad system (0 dB, 15 dB, and 25 dB) allows it to withstand extremely high sound pressure levels, making it suitable for everything from delicate acoustic work to thunderous percussion. A subsonic filter eliminates low‐frequency rumble below 17 Hz, while the 3‐position switchable low‐frequency filter reduces background noise and counteracts proximity effect.

From acoustic instruments like piano, guitar, and strings to wind instruments including brass and woodwind sections, the KSM137 excels across diverse applications. Its exceptional reproduction of low‐frequency sounds makes it particularly effective for double bass, electric bass, and kick drum recording, while its precision suits overhead drum miking, choral and orchestral ensembles, and room ambiance capture for guitar amplifiers.
