Born from Seymour Duncan's legendary days at Fender Soundhouse during The Yardbirds' heyday, these pickups carry the DNA of rock history. When Seymour was rewinding pickups for his favourite musicians in London, one particular custom recipe caught the attention of a very special player. Thanks to Seymour's meticulous record keeping, this exceptional pickup design has been preserved and continues to inspire guitarists today.
The Whole Lotta Humbucker recipe starts with rough cast alnico 5 magnets, plain enamel wire, and Seymour's distinctive winding pattern. The bridge pickup packs a vintage–hot 8.78k DC resistance whilst the neck sits at a similarly robust 8.20k. Those rough cast magnets contribute warmth and balance, making everything sound bigger and fuller than standard humbuckers.
What sets these pickups apart sonically is their ability to naturally push your amplifier whilst adding subtle compression and sustain to your tone. Hand built in Santa Barbara, California, each Whole Lotta Humbucker features a rough cast alnico 5 bar magnet, nickel silver bottom plate, and 4–conductor lead wire for versatile wiring options. They're wax potted to ensure squeal–free operation during high–gain performances.
