Slash is revered for crafting some of the greatest riffs, licks, and solos in rock & roll history. To capture the searing tone that defined his work with Guns N' Roses, Velvet Revolver, and beyond, Slash and Seymour Duncan joined forces to create his signature pickup sets ‐ the Slash and Slash 2.0 Humbuckers. Originally released with vintage specifications, these legendary pickups are now available with modern refinements for today's players.
When Gibson honoured Slash with a Les Paul Signature model, Seymour Duncan provided the same Alnico 2 Pro humbuckers he had relied on for years. However, the new guitars sounded distinctly different from Slash's original Appetite For Destruction Les Paul. To solve this, Seymour Duncan engineered a new pickup that would perfectly replicate the tone and feel of the guitar that defined an era.
Through careful experimentation, they developed a custom magnet wire and winding specification paired with an Alnico 3 bar magnet, resulting in a pickup that pushes a standard Les Paul toward the signature sustain, crunch, and midrange roar of Slash's original Derrig Les Paul. Each set is hand‐built in Santa Barbara using traditional methods ‐ nickel silver baseplates, maple spacers, paper tape, and wax potting ‐ ensuring timeless tone and performance.
Just like Slash's own guitars, these are the exact same pickups his trusted tech, Ace Bergman, installs straight from Seymour Duncan's production line. Now featuring modern updates such as Short Ear (SE) mounting legs for greater installation flexibility and a 4‐conductor cable for advanced wiring options, they're ready to deliver authentic Slash tone in any setup.
