Slash is synonymous with some of the most iconic riffs, licks, and solos in rock & roll history. To capture the raw power and expressive tone that defined his work with Guns N' Roses, Velvet Revolver, and his solo projects, Slash and Seymour Duncan teamed up to create his signature pickup sets ‐ the Slash and Slash 2.0 Humbuckers. Originally offered with vintage specs, these pickups are now available with modern configurations for greater versatility.
When Gibson honoured Slash with a Les Paul Signature model, Seymour Duncan supplied his trusted Alnico 2 Pro humbuckers. But something was missing ‐ the new guitars didn't quite match the magic of his original AFD Les Paul. Rising to the challenge, Seymour Duncan developed the Slash Signature Model humbucker, perfectly tuned to recreate the unmistakable sustain, crunch, and midrange character of Slash's famed Derrig Les Paul copy.
Each humbucker is hand‐built in Santa Barbara, crafted the same way as the originals from the 1980s. They feature nickel silver baseplates with long mounting legs, single conductor braided lead wire, maple spacers, paper tape, and are wax potted for reliability and consistency. The result is an authentic, harmonically rich tone that screams rock heritage.
As used by Slash himself, these pickups are the exact models installed by his long‐time tech, Ace Bergman, in his personal guitars. Modern versions of this set now include Short Ear (SE) mounting legs for broader compatibility and a 4‐conductor cable for advanced wiring options such as coil‐splitting, series/parallel, and phase switching.
