Seymour Duncan's JB Model humbucker has earned its legendary status as the company's best–selling pickup by consistently adapting to every musical evolution from blues and country through to grunge and thrash metal. This versatile pickup features a full, powerful low end paired with crisp, detailed highs, while its signature upper–midrange bump provides the crunch and chunk that makes heavy chords sound massive and single notes sing with vocal–like clarity.
The JB's hot output naturally drives your amplifier harder, creating enhanced sustain and rich harmonics that cut through any mix. For optimal performance, pair it with a 500k volume pot to maintain brilliant high–end clarity, or switch to a 250k pot for a sweeter, softer tone suited to smoother playing styles. Many guitarists find it pairs beautifully with Jazz or '59 neck pickups, though some prefer using the JB in the neck position for an exceptionally fat solo sound.
Handcrafted in Seymour Duncan's Santa Barbara factory, each JB Model features premium components including an Alnico 5 bar magnet and nickel silver bottom plate. The 4–conductor lead wire opens up multiple wiring possibilities such as series, parallel and coil–split configurations, while vacuum wax potting ensures completely squeal–free operation under high–gain conditions.
