This desktop powerhouse combines genuine Curtis analog VCOs and filters from the Rev3 with new 2140 low-pass filters designed by Dave Rossum, mirroring his original 2040 filters from Rev1 and Rev2. A Rev switch allows you to choose between the two distinct filter designs, while also adjusting the Filter Envelope’s shape and response to match the original Prophet revisions.

The secret to the Prophet-5’s warm, organic character lies in the subtle fluctuations and differences between individual voice components. Sequential has recreated this magic through the innovative Vintage knob, which lets you dial in varying degrees of old-school randomness. From the stability of a “Rev4” setting to the temperamental charm of the original Rev1, you can access the full spectrum of Prophet-5 personality.

Classic features like Poly Mod remain faithfully intact, with Filter Envelope and Oscillator B as modulation sources affecting Oscillator A frequency, pulse width, and low-pass filter. Unison mode now offers configurable voice count (1-5 voices) with variable detuning and chord memory, while Glide functions both in and out of Unison. Modern additions include velocity sensitivity and aftertouch, enabling filter sweeps, LFO modulation, and volume changes that the original could never achieve.

The knob-per-function interface provides immediate access to all sound-shaping controls, with 200 factory programs and 200 user programs including the original 40-program sound set from 1978.
