Sequential Prophet-5 61-key Analog Synthesizer

Dave Smith's legendary Prophet-5 returns with all the muscular analog character that made it a studio staple, now enhanced with modern reliability and expressive capabilities. This isn't just another reissue – Sequential has meticulously recreated the authentic sound using genuine Curtis analog VCOs and filters from the Rev3, alongside new 2140 low-pass filters designed by Dave Rossum. The Rev switch allows you to choose between filter designs, giving you access to the sonic characteristics of all three original Prophet-5 revisions in one instrument.

The magic lies in Sequential's research into what made the original Prophet-5 sound so warm and alive – those subtle fluctuations and differences between voices that gave each note its organic character. The innovative Vintage knob lets you dial in this old-school randomness, from the stability of a modern synth all the way to the temperamental charm of the original Rev1. Combined with the faithful recreation of Poly Mod and an enhanced Unison mode with configurable voice count and variable detuning, you get the full range of classic Prophet-5 sounds.

While staying true to the original's knob-per-function simplicity, Sequential has added velocity sensitivity and aftertouch to expand your expressive possibilities. The premium Fatar five-octave keyboard sits in a handcrafted steel and sustainable black walnut body, housing 400 programs including the original 40-program sound set from 1978. With comprehensive MIDI, USB, CV and Gate connectivity, this Prophet-5 bridges the gap between vintage authenticity and contemporary studio integration.
