Building upon the legendary foundation of the Pro 1 and Pro 2, Sequential's Pro 3 represents a quantum leap in mono/paraphonic synthesis, combining raw sonic power with unprecedented versatility. This hybrid powerhouse features three oscillators including two voltage-controlled analog oscillators for warmth and presence, plus a third wavetable oscillator that adds digital edge and grit. With 32 tables of 16 waves each and wave morphing capabilities, the tonal possibilities are truly immense, whilst tuned feedback with grunge and analog distortion provide industrial-grade nastiness on demand.

The Pro 3's ballsy sound centres around its trio of vintage-style filters: a 4-pole low-pass design based on the Prophet-6, a classic transistor ladder filter with optional resonance compensation, and a 2-pole state-variable design based on the OB-6 that can be continuously varied between low-pass, notch, and high-pass operation. The comprehensive modulation system includes three LFOs, four loopable envelopes, and a massive 32-slot mod matrix with 171 destinations, allowing for incredibly complex and expressive sound design.

Perhaps the most powerful performance tool is the 16 x 16 x 4 sequencer, featuring both real-time and step input, ratcheting, variable gate and sequence lengths, multiple playback modes, and paraphonic operation. The flexible architecture opens doors to processing external audio and interfacing with modular synths through four rear-panel CV inputs/outputs and dedicated gate output. Combined with dual digital effects, a full-featured arpeggiator, and housed in a three-octave semi-weighted keyboard with velocity and channel aftertouch, the Pro 3 stands as one of the most inspiring and versatile synthesizers available.
