Samba World Percussion 8.5" x 38cm Djembe (Kente)

The Samba World Percussion 8.5" Djembe features a synthetic PVC body finished in traditional kente African pattern. Manufactured by Contemporanea and distributed through Australia, this instrument delivers authentic djembe voice without the maintenance demands of rope–tensioned wooden shells. The 8.5" diameter and 38 cm height suit players seeking a mid–range frame drum that balances portability with tonal depth, making it equally at home in world music ensembles, studio work, or casual performance contexts.

Construction relies on a rigid PVC shell paired with high–quality rope tuning, allowing players to adjust pitch and damping characteristics across a practical range. The kente finish provides visual distinction while the synthetic body resists humidity and temperature fluctuations that would affect traditional wood frames. This approach suits touring musicians and those in variable climates, as PVC djembes maintain consistent tone and require minimal climate–related maintenance compared to their wooden counterparts.
