Sabian 18" HHX Anthology High Bell Crash/Ride Cymbal 118XAHN

Sabian's 18" HHX Anthology High Bell Crash/Ride merges traditional cymbal craftsmanship with contemporary voicing, designed around Jojo Mayer's philosophy that the player controls the sound. This dual–purpose crash/ride sits at the intersection of bright, articulate stick definition and warm, sustained wash characteristics, making it adaptable across multiple musical contexts without compromise.

The 18" diameter and high–profile bell structure deliver crisp attack with substantial sustain, responding to both sensitive touch work and harder dynamic playing. HHX series technology combines hand–hammering with selective lathing to balance clarity and cut against musicality. The thinner weight profile reduces mass while maintaining projection, allowing the cymbal to speak quickly without excessive ping or harshness across its frequency range.

Suited to drummers seeking a single crash/ride that transitions between tight, controlled accents and fuller, open crashing without swapping cymbals, this piece rewards technique–driven playing where subtlety matters as much as volume. Studio engineers and gigging musicians will find it handles both studio tracking and live performance demands with consistent sonic character.
